First Gulf and L3 WESCAM recently broke ground on a new 330,000 sf research and development, engineering, assembly and office space at Hwy 5 and Hwy 6 in Hamilton.

The new building, located on approximately 18 acres of land, will bring the company’s two Burlington facilities under one roof.

With 1,200 employees to be based at this facility, L3 WESCAM is a true Canadian success story. L3 WESCAM is a world leader in aerospace, homeland security and defence technologies, products and solutions. Their technologies can be found on more than 200 different platforms across the air, land and maritime domains. One of the key features of this location was the location of the building on the side of the Niagara Escarpment, affording long, unobstructed views from the top of the building in order to test equipment.

Their continued growth required a new facility that will see the company return to its Hamilton roots in Q1 2021.
